Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS)
The CPCS aims to relieve pressure on the wider NHS by connecting patients with community pharmacy, which should be their first port of call and can deliver a swift, convenient and effective service to meet their needs.
As well as referrals from general practices, the service takes referrals to community pharmacy from NHS 111 (and NHS 111 online for requests for urgent supply.
Disposal Of Unwanted Medicines
We routinely accept over the counter or prescription drugs that are unwanted, out-of-date or waste medicines for safe disposal from patients and households - don’t bin them or flush them.
Discharge Medicines Service
The Discharge Medicines Service (DMS) allows NHS hospital trusts to be able to refer patients who would benefit from extra guidance around new prescribed medicines for provision of the DMS at their community pharmacy. The service has been identified by NHS England and NHS Improvement’s (NHSE&I) Medicines Safety Improvement Programme to be a significant contributor to the safety of patients at transitions of care, by reducing readmissions to hospitals.
Repeat Dispensing/electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD)
At least two-thirds of all prescriptions generated in primary care are for patients needing repeat supplies of regular medicines

NHS Flu Vaccination Service
Each year from September through to March the NHS runs a seasonal flu vaccination campaign aiming to vaccinate all patients who are at risk of developing more serious complications from the virus. The accessibility provided by our pharmacy, by having extended opening hours and the option to walk in without an appointment has proved popular with patients seeking vaccinations.
New Medicine Service (NMS)
The service provides support to people who have newly prescribed a medicine to manage a long-term condition, which will generally help them to appropriately improve their medication adherence and enhance self-management of their long term condition (LTC).
Four conditions/therapy areas are currently covered by the service:
If a patient has been newly prescribed one of these medicines, they will be eligible to receive the service, subject to the pharmacist being able to determine that the medicine is being used to treat one of the above conditions in circumstances where medicine can be used to treat multiple conditions.
NHS Community Pharmacy Extended Care Services
The Community Pharmacy Extended Care Service allows pharmacists to treat patients presenting with certain conditions that otherwise would have to be seen by prescribers in General Practice. The service is open to any eligible patient who is registered with a GP practice contracted to NHS England and Improvement (NHSE&I) Midlands
The service has two tiers:
Tier 1 services
· For the simple UTI service, only female patients in the age range 16 years to under 65 years are eligible for the service following updated guidance from PHE.
· For the acute bacterial conjunctivitis service, only children aged from 3 months to 2 years of age are eligible to receive treatment within this service.
Tier 2a skin services
This service is available to patients aged one year and over who are registered with a GP practice contracted to NHS England & Improvement Midlands for the treatment of:
· Infected insect bites
· Infected eczema
· Impetigo
Pharmacy Needle Exchange
You can access a wide range of injecting equipment from:
· Red - 5 sets of kit for injecting into veins (heroin)
· Blue - 5 sets of kits for injecting into deeper veins (heroin) with long blue needle
· Purple - 5 sets of kit for injecting into deeper veins (heroin) with long orange needle
· Green - 10 sets of kit for injecting amphetamine (2ml barrels)
· Orange - 10 sets of kit for injecting intramuscular steroids
· Yellow - 10 sets of kit for injecting subcutaneously (under the skin)
Safe Space
UK SAYS NO MORE is working with independent pharmacies across the UK to provide Safe Spaces in their consultation rooms for people experiencing domestic abuse.
To access our Safe Space
· Walk into the pharmacy.
· Ask at the healthcare counter to use the Safe Space.
· A pharmacist will show you to the Safe Space. Which will be the consultancy room.
· Once inside, you will find displayed specialist domestic abuse support information for you to access, to make that call or access Bright Sky safely.
C-Card Supply
We can provide condoms for free as part of the NHS FREE Condom Supply.*
Contraception services are free and confidential, including for people under the age of 16.
If you're under 16 and want contraception, this is a confidential service and we will not inform your parents (or carer) as long as we believe you fully understand the information you're given and your decisions.

Chickenpox - Vaccination
Most children catch chickenpox, and most will recover with no lasting ill effects. However, chickenpox can be a very unpleasant condition and can sometimes cause serious complications.

While it rarely causes serious complications, cystitis can be very painful and cause major disruption to your life. In mild cases, it settles on its own, but it sometimes needs antibiotics to cure it. If your Pharmacist confirms that you have cystitis, they can offer a three-day course of tablets which should cure the infection quickly.

Flu - Vaccination (18 To 49 Year-Olds)
Influenza (flu) is caused by a virus. Unlike the common cold, it can cause serious illness and is responsible for many thousands of deaths a year in the UK.
People at higher risk of serious complications from flu are eligible to a free NHS flu vaccine every year. You can find out if you are in one of these groups by using our flu eligibility checker.
Even if you’re not in a high-risk group, flu can still be a very unpleasant condition. If you are not eligible for an NHS vaccine but want a private (paid for) flu vaccine.

Hay Fever Treatments
Hay fever can make certain times of year a misery. There are several options for treatment which are freely available to buy from pharmacies.
However, there are several medications which are only available after a consultation with your Pharmacist or GP. These include the antihistamine fexofenadine, and the nasal sprays Dymista (azelastine and fluticasone) and Rhinolast (azelastine). These can be useful if other treatments have not controlled your symptoms.

Malaria Prevention Treatment
